The Challenge

India is making substantial investments in the enhancement of its cities, aiming to foster greater intelligence, sustainability, and overall livability amidst the population growth. 
The challenge is to source and supply the citizens with unpolluted clean water.

This requires monitoring the entire water flow system. Commencing with the extraction of water from natural reservoirs such as rivers or lakes, the process then entails its treatment and conversion into a usable form, ultimately culminating in the distribution to end consumers.

It is important to identify and rectify  any leaks or instances of wastage to be monitored. This critical measure serves the dual purpose of maintaining a seamless water provision today and fostering strategic planning for the future.

The Solution

Velox has established itself as a trailblazer in the realm of water technology endeavors, with a diverse range of projects such as water and wastewater treatment, tertiary treatment, effluent treatment, and the development of efficient water pumping stations.

This project stands as yet another remarkable achievement for Velox, solidifying its reputation as a leader in the field of smart city solutions for comprehensive water management.

The municipal body's requirement was to gather comprehensive water usage data from all significant consumers dispersed throughout the city. The vision encompassed the creation of a comprehensive automation and tracking system, which would span across the entire water supply network, starting from the intake well, extending to the treatment plants, and ultimately reaching the end users

• The implementation of the WINCC SCADA system was seamlessly integrated across the entire water supply infrastructure.
• Zonal SCADA system was strategically devised for efficient Control.
• A central command center SCADA system was established specifically for comprehensive monitoring purposes.
• A faulty 7-kilometer power and control cable was meticulously replaced and rerouted to resolve the problem, requiring over 200 terminations for reliable electrical connectivity.
• Velox deployed S7 1200 & S7 1500 based PLC systems at multiple locations, employing GPRS communication for seamless connectivity and control.
• Data from the central SCADA system smoothly flows to the command center via OPC UA, ensuring reliable and efficient information sharing.
• A dedicated local PLC memory card was implemented to prevent data loss during communication failures, preserving crucial information.
• An Android and IOS App was developed to monitor and alert the authority in case of any system or usage breach.
