The Challenge

In the world of butter making, consumer need is the first preference. A demand for hygienically prepared and packaged butter is a MUST. The need has driven the dairy companies to adopt modern technology of automation. 

The need of the hour with this client was the expansion of the plant which required relocation. Old location did not work on automation. So the new plant needed automation, optimization and enhanced butter production facility.

The Solution

Velox is experienced in analyzing processes and finding the right automated procedures which are cost effective and optimize the processes. Automating key processes minimizes downtime and ensures consistent product quality. To increase Sumul dairy’s butter production, Velox integrated a CBMM machine with multiple control systems and SCADA, ensuring seamless communication and functionality.

Velox took the turnkey project to supply, install, test and commission PLC, SCADA, IMCC, field cables, instruments, and control valves. The most important is the MIS  reporting for such projects.

The solution was given with the installation:

  • Siemens S7-300 PLC with remote I/O along with Wincc SCADA. one operating and one engineering system.
  • Pneumatic control valves hooked over the ASI network.
  • Profibus DP facilitated communication with the IMCC system.
  • Third-party systems established communication with the systems through different protocols including Profibus, Profinet, and Devicenet.
  • Provided the system with various networks like Fibre Optic, Copper etc.
  • Supplied and connected various field instruments for operational integration.
